ABOUT GRANVILLE COUNTY
Granville County is the stretch of rolling piedmont between our Vance County home base and the Triangle. Oxford, the county seat, has a historic housing stock — downtown homes from the late 1800s and early 1900s, plus mid-century ranches in the residential neighborhoods. Butner is younger, developed largely after WWII, with a mix of brick ranch and some institutional housing. Creedmoor has grown the most recently, attracting Triangle commuters who want acreage; you'll find newer construction there alongside older farmhouses on county roads.
Granville is a county we work in regularly because it's directly between our home base and the Triangle — jobs here fit naturally into our daily routing. The rural character of much of the county means properties tend to be on larger lots with older housing, which translates to a steady stream of replacement work as that stock ages out.
WHAT ROOF WORK LOOKS LIKE HERE
The piedmont hail corridor runs right through Granville County. Storms that form west of the Triangle often track northeast across Granville — by the time we're getting calls from Oxford, we've often already worked the same storm system farther west. The damage profile is typical piedmont: impact craters on asphalt shingles, cracked ridge caps, dented gutters and downspouts.
Oxford's older housing stock presents careful work. Some of the downtown homes have original wood decking under multiple layers of shingles. When we strip those roofs, we find out what we're dealing with and advise the homeowner before we close it back up. We'd rather have that conversation up front than cover up a problem.
Creedmoor is the growing edge of Granville County, and the newer construction there is a different conversation — higher-end architectural shingles, more interest in impact-resistant ratings, and homeowners thinking about long-term value and insurance discounts. We handle both ends of the market, and we're priced fairly for both.
