Scope of work

The carrier’s scope arrives on the Xactimate estimate. The roofer’s scope is what we build on the inspection — every slope, every penetration, every flashing, every code item. When the two scopes disagree, that disagreement is exactly what a supplement addresses. The bigger the gap, the more documentation it takes to close it.

NC building code changes often — nailing patterns, ice-and-water-shield extents, drip-edge requirements at eaves and rakes, deck attachment for high-wind zones near the coast. Code upgrades are claimable under most policies’ ordinance-and-law coverage, but only if they are on the scope. We write code citations into every scope we file so the carrier cannot argue them off.
