INSURANCE CARRIER GUIDE · NC
Allstate homeowner policies show up regularly on NC storm claims — particularly in Wake, Durham, and the outer-suburban counties where their agent network is dense. Here is what we know from working with their adjusters on roof claims across the area.

COMMON ISSUES WE SEE ON ALLSTATE CLAIMS
These are operational observations — not criticism. Adjusters miss things on every carrier's claims. It is part of why we show up.

HOW WE WORK WITH ALLSTATE
We run Allstate claims the same way we run every other carrier claim: free inspection first, full documentation before the adjuster arrives, on-roof meeting when the adjuster comes out. After the initial Xactimate estimate, we compare every line item to our field notes and photographs. Where the scope is short, we build a written supplement with photos, code references, and manufacturer specs attached. We submit it to Allstate's claims office and follow it to a written response — usually within two to three weeks for straightforward supplement requests, longer when claims are stacked after a regional storm event.

FREQUENTLY ASKED · ALLSTATE CLAIMS
Allstate policies in NC vary. Some include cosmetic-damage exclusion endorsements — particularly on policies renewed or written in the last several years in hail-prone areas. Check the endorsement section of your policy for any language about cosmetic or aesthetic damage to roofing. We read those clauses before every inspection.
Allstate NC policies commonly carry a percentage-based wind/hail deductible separate from the standard flat deductible. The percentage is typically one or two percent of the dwelling coverage limit. On a $400,000 home, a two percent wind/hail deductible is $8,000. That number is on your current declarations page — always read the current version, not an older one.
No. Allstate does not require you to get multiple bids. They have a contractor network you may be offered access to, but you can hire any licensed NC roofing contractor. We work directly with Allstate's claims process on your behalf — you do not have to manage the back-and-forth.
Most standard Allstate homeowner policies pay on an RCV basis for roofs below a certain age. Some policies include a roof age schedule that reduces the settlement as the roof ages. Your declarations page and the loss-settlement section of your policy spell out which applies to you.
You can file online at allstate.com, through the Allstate app, or by calling your agent. Before you file, call us first — we can help you document the damage properly, pull the storm date from NOAA records if needed, and make sure your initial claim report is complete. A well-documented first filing reduces back-and-forth later.
