CERTIFICATIONS
The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) is the largest US trade association for roofing professionals. NRCA membership is open to any qualifying contractor and signals that the company invests in industry training, technical resources, and code engagement.
HOW IT SHOWS UP IN NC ROOFING
NRCA is a trade association, not a certification body — the badge does not carry the same weight as a manufacturer-tier certification like GAF Master Elite. What it does signal is that the company is engaged with industry-wide standards: NRCA publishes the standard technical manuals on roof installation, runs continuing education for contractors, and lobbies on building-code issues.
For a homeowner, NRCA membership is a tier-2 trust signal alongside state licensing, a clean BBB record, and current manufacturer certifications. State licensing and manufacturer certifications are the two we would always check first. NRCA membership tells you the contractor is keeping up with the technical side of the trade rather than running a sales-only operation.
